Our Beginner Course is designed especially for flower lovers with no prior experience in floral design. You’ll enjoy a fun, hands-on learning experience while gaining fundamental knowledge and skills in floral design, including:
Identifying common flowers and foliage
Proper conditioning and handling
Essential design techniques and applications
The course content is based on The AIFD Guide to Floral Design: Terms, Techniques, and Traditions, focusing on the elements and principles of floral design. This ensures that students not only learn specific arrangements but also develop the knowledge and confidence to create their own designs with creativity and originality.
This course can be taken on its own as an introduction to floral design, or as the first step in a more comprehensive education pathway, followed by our Intermediate Course, AIFD CFD, and AIFD PFDE Preparatory Course.
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for complete beginners who would like to learn the basics of floral design. To ensure personal guidance, class sizes are limited to a maximum of eight students.

Arrival Time
Please arrive 10 minutes before class so we can start and finish on time. Full-day workshops include a 30-minute lunch break.
What to Bring
All flowers, materials, and tools will be provided. You may bring a notepad and pen if you’d like to take notes.
Lunch & Refreshments
Light refreshments (tea, coffee, and snacks) will be provided. Please bring your own lunch for full-day workshops.
Certificates
Students completing the Beginner and Intermediate Courses will receive a certificate. For CFD students, if your work meets the required standard, you may be invited to become an AIFD® Certified Floral Designer (CFD®). More details are available on the CFD course page.
Cancellations
For Beginner, Intermediate, and CFD courses, a full refund is available for cancellations made at least 14 days before the course start date. If a course must be cancelled due to low enrollment, we will give at least one week’s notice. You may then choose to transfer to another course or receive a full refund.
Language
Classes are delivered in English unless otherwise specified. Private group bookings can be arranged in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese.
Photography
You are welcome to take your own photos. Our teacher, and occasionally our photographer, may also take photos for marketing or social media. If you prefer not to appear in photos, please let us know.
